Meet the team

Nick Whiting

Head of Redcare

Nick has worked for Redcare since the early 1990's. He was involved in the original helpdesk based in the Midlands, and has since taken on various roles on the technical side of Redcare.  Before he joined the Redcare team, Nick worked for BT in a Fault Repair centre as a Diagnostic Testing Officer.


Previously Head of Product and Portfolio, Nick is now Head of Redcare.

Darren Davey

Head of Sales

Darren has worked in sales, trade & commercial management for 30 years. His career has been focussed in the shipping & logistics industry working for several global providers. Darren has a passion for great customer service and relationship development and is very excited to be heading up the BT Redcare sales team.

Born in East London & married since 1993, Darren has two children, the eldest an Architect in training & the youngest within the insurance industry. He plays golf badly and is a music lover although recently and begrudgingly handed over his vinyl collection to his son. Classic cars & F1 have also been long term interests.

Said Hachemi

Head of Commercial Management

Said started his journey in our sister company EE as an advisor, where he gained valuable skills in sales and customer service. Through hard work and dedication, he progressively advanced to the position of Senior Advisor, where he successfully managed a small team. Subsequently, he further excelled and was promoted to Assistant Manager.


Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a consistent track record of success in enhancing operational processes, improving efficiencies, and achieving remarkable commercial growth. His commitment to staying informed about regulatory obligations ensures that all activities are carried out with complete compliance.


Said's communication and language skills serve as the foundation for creating and maintaining strong professional relationships with both colleagues and clients. His dedication to continuous self-education and development underscores his passion for excelling in his field and delivering top-notch results.

Andrew Deeming

Product Manager

Andy has an extensive background in product development and portfolio management, having created and launched several award-winning products. With sector expertise in Smart Homes, Lighting/Heating Controls and Smart Metering, he is passionate about interoperability and making systems work together.


Andy’s previous roles include business unit technical director for a large corporate, engineering director of a successful MBO, head of product portfolio management for an international metering group and running a smart home start up. He has a degree in engineering from Loughborough University. 


Andy is married with two grown up children. He lives in Somerset and when not trying out another smart home gadget on the family, Andy enjoys watching F1, listening to music and getting out in the countryside walking his Irish Terrier.

Rob McLaughlin

North Regional Technical Manager

Rob started his working career as a junior in a graphic design studio and left to start a Technical Apprenticeship with Lucas Industries. On completion of his apprenticeship Rob pursued a career in Electronics and Telecommunications and has since held several engineering positions.


Rob then joined BT Redcare in 2005 and was appointed as UK North Technical Support Manager in 2006, later in 2011, joined the Redcare sales team as North Regional Technical Manager, a role which he enjoys immensely.


Born in Glasgow, Rob married his wife in 1994 and now has two children. He’s a lifelong and passionate music fan with an ever-expanding vinyl collection and some great concert memories! When he’s not working, Rob enjoys Fly Fishing and working on his Motorbikes.

Jason Minney

Midlands Regional Technical Manager

Jason joined BT in 2011 as an Openreach apprentice. After completing his apprenticeship as a customer service engineer, Jason then started working at the Redcare technical helpdesk based in Northampton. Jason has gathered a wealth of knowledge on the Redcare portfolio as well as helping installers with various technical queries. This enabled him to gain a promotion to Technical Manager. Prior to working for BT, Jason worked in construction as a bricklayer for a local company based in Northampton.

Born in Northampton, Jason currently lives in Wellingborough with his girlfriend (soon to be wife), Charlotte. Jason is a big fan of sports and enjoys doing DIY projects on his house.

Raj Patel

Central & Midlands Regional Account Manager

Raj has been working for BT for 28 years, and over the last six years as Regional Account Director for BT Redcare fire and security. He currently looks after the Fire and Security portfolio; responsible for managing key alarm receiving centres (ARCs) and installers.


Raj has three wonderful children, eldest who is a doctor and partner who is a practicing GP. He has a strong passion for cooking especially Indian and Chinese. As keen traveller, Raj is an amateur photographer and has a strong interest in astronomy.

Garry McCallum

Scotland & Northern Ireland Regional Account Manager

Garry has worked for over 22 years in the telecoms/broadband industry at Virgin Media. He has experience in direct sales for both residential and business. He has also worked alongside the planning department and construction desk on the Virgin Media database, focusing mainly on bringing new customers onboard. 


Garry lives in his hometown of Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, with his wife, three sons and their dog, Marley. When he was younger, he was a club promoter and DJ.  He has his own history website and loves researching the history of Hamilton, where he has uncovered many fascinating stories on local  people, buildings and events.


Garry’s website draws readers from all over the world and he has over 50k followers across social media. This has allowed him to appear on TV and his stories have been published in many magazines and newspapers.

Salim Saleh

North East Regional Account Manager

Sal has worked for BT for almost 20 years and undertook a variety of roles across many sectors including SME’s, Corporate and Government. Sal has recently re-joined the Redcare Sales team as Regional Account Director for the North East having previously worked for Redcare for over 10 years covering a number of roles including managing alarm receiving centres (ARC’s) and installers in the Midlands area.

Prior to re-joining Redcare Sal set up and managed the Openreach vehicle rebrand project which involved rebranding 20,000 vehicles on behalf of BT Fleet.  

A graduate of De Montfort University where he received a BA Hons degree in Business Marketing. Sal is Married with 2 young children. A keen sportsman who loves playing football, tennis and golf.

Neil Richards

North West Regional Account Manager

Neil has worked for BT for almost 35 years with a varied career that has seen him play key roles in Product management and Sales. Joining Redcare as an engineer he helped to expand and build the Network and Host computer infrastructure.


Neil has been a key driver over many years, helping to make Redcare into the leading Fire and Security Company it is today.


Working closely with customer is a key driver in our business "our customers are many and varied from very large customers to small installers. All are important to the business and have been key to the success of Redcare over the years and will continue to be the future success of Redcare."


Neil lives in Stockport with his wife Denise, he has two Daughters and two great grandchildren. Neil enjoys watching Football, playing Golf and walking his dog.

Raff Miah

East Anglia & North London Regional Account Manager

Raff joined BT in 2002 and has undertaken a number of network infrastructure, managerial and operational roles across BT Group. This has helped him to understand all aspects of the business strategy. 


Raff joined the Technical Helpdesk team in April 2014 where he supported alarm engineers and advised with installation and technical queries. After a successful three years, he then got a promotion to Regional Technical Manager for the South of the UK. This involved running technical training across the country and site visits to help with complex issues.  


With vast technical knowledge and great sales skills, in June 2019 Raff was again promoted to an Account Manager for BT Redcare looking after the region from East Anglia to North London. He is extremely excited to be working closely with the major ARCs and Installers to bring innovative fire and security solutions and a new dynamic approach to our engagement.


Raff enjoys all sporting activities including football, cricket and Formula 1, and also has a new interest in golf.

Joanne Watkins

South West & Wales Regional Account Manager

Joanne has recently joined BT Redcare, having been in the Security industry for several years working in alarm signalling. Joanne joins us from an Alarm Receiving Centre and hopes to use her experience to develop and maintain the relationships between BT Redcare, ARC's and Installers in her role as Regional Account Director for Central and Wales.

Joanne lives with her partner in Staffordshire with their cockapoo puppy, Millie. She plays guitar and has a keen interest in watching and attending Formula 1 races.

Baz Choudhury

South East & South London Regional Account Manager

Baz joined BT in 1993 and has been involved in Sales throughout his career, working across different lines of the BT Group has given him a wide breadth of experience in Sales. Throughout his career journey, Baz has dealt with many small and large corporate customers addressing their business needs and providing them with world class solutions that meet their business objectives, through driving better business value.


More recently Baz joined BT Redcare as Regional Account Director; responsible for all ARC's and Installers based in the South region and is a lead interface into BT Redcare. His objective is to address all aspects of your mutual relationship, sales strategy and continue to help us grow together.

Rebecca Mellor

North Desk Based Account Manager

Rebecca has been at BT for over 3 years and she previously worked as a desk-based engineer on the Ethernet Provision team. Upon completion of her apprenticeship, she received an IT degree from Staffordshire University.


Rebecca has moved into BT Redcare as a Desk Based Account Manager to support the Regional Account Managers in the North of England.


Rebecca enjoys watching football and attending matches as well as travelling and spending time with her dog, Milo.

Naomi Helps

South Desk Based Account Manager

After completing a Business Management degree from Cardiff, Naomi joined BT on the Commercial Management Graduate Scheme. The scheme gave Naomi the opportunity and exposure to work in three different rotations exploring 3G data, Learning & Development and 5G Innovation.

Naomi has joined BT Redcare as a Desk Based Account Manager to support the Regional Managers and accounts in the South, South East and South West.

Naomi enjoys travelling – exploring the local culture and cuisines. She also enjoys dog walks and photography.

Lisa John-Middlemiss

Marketing Manager

Lisa has worked at BT for 12 years in a variety of marketing roles, across a wide range of business areas. She currently heads up a team responsible for marketing activity across Redcare, Payphones and Voice Services.


After a year out travelling and exploring the delights of Hong Kong, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand and Bali amongst others, Lisa started her foray into marketing at university, specialising in this as part of a Business Studies degree. Then moving on to work in the real world and put her studying into practice for IBM, Global One and Infonet.


Lisa is married with two children and lives in Essex. Luckily married to a man that can cook as this is not one of her strengths and an avid sports fan!
