Secure PSTN products no longer available

Picture of sunrise

As PSTN begins its shut down and the move to an all-IP world beckons, we will start withdrawing our remaining PSTN-based products from sale, as well as giving you a range of options for new installs of our Next Generation portfolio.

Which products are on the way out?

We’ll be removing the rest of the Secure range from sale. From 5.59pm on 31 December, Secure 2, Secure 3 and Secure Fire PSTN will be withdrawn from sale.

We will continue to support all of the products within the Secure range that are currently installed, including:

  • Solo
  • Secure 2
  • Secure 3
  • Secure Fire
  • Secure IP
  • Secure Fire IP.

Why are we doing it?

The PSTN lines will be shutting down in 2025, so all products that rely on this dial up technology will no longer work. The use of 3G is also gradually declining, to improve 4G and 5G services. We have already tested the use of the ATA port, which is available on some hubs, but it’s not a practical alternative as it’s not designed for alarm signalling. It would also take the same effort to cable as it would to enable an IP solution. But that’s where our Next Generation portfolio comes in.
