Risk assessment is not new to the industry having already appeared in BS4737, and as a requirement for compliance with DD243. Its relevance will be further reinforced by the introduction of new EN standards (EN50131) in October 2005.
Installers can rely on BT Redcare’s business partner programme to provide an easy-to-use range of materials, including a Guide to Risk Assessment and two risk assessment surveys, that demystify legalese surrounding the legislation and clarify the requirements for assessing risks to commercial and domestic properties.
