Order Types

The following list is designed to provide BT Redcare Installers with an explanation of the various types of orders they can place with BT Redcare.

1. Provides
A Provide is used to provide a brand new service for a new customer.

2. Service Changes
A Service Change should be used when an existing customer has a change to his existing service. There are three types of Service Changes:

1.

Type N (Number Change) – used when a customer gets a new telephone number without moving to a new address

2.

Type A (Address Change) – used when a customer moves to a new address but keeps the same telephone number

3.

Type B (Number & Address Change) – used when a customer moves to a new address and gets a new telephone number

Please note: From 1 April 2004, service change types "N" and "B" will no longer be used. Read more about changes to our range of possible order types.

When a Service Change is issued for a number change or a number and address change, a new STU is provided for the new number or number and address while the old STU is still being used. This ensures that there is no break in service. It is recommended that a new block terminal be ordered for the new number.

Once the new STU is upped and working, a Z-type cease should be sent in to cease the old STU.

3. Transfers
A transfer is only used when a customer changes from one Alarm Receiving Centre to another Alarm Receiving Centre.

4. Regrades
There are two types of Regrades:
1. Regrade from BT Redcare to Redcare gsm;
2. Regrade from BT Redcare to redline.

5. Option Changes
An option change is used to add extra options to existing an existing BT Redcare installation. There are two types of Option Changes:
1. Option Change to TotalCare;
2. Option Change to Serial.

6. Ceases
There are two types of Ceases:
1. Cease is to completely end a BT Redcare contract;
2. A Z-type cease is to cease an old STU from a service change.
