Polling

Redcare gsm – going the extra mile

BT Redcare is a managed service, and we can tell the status of our system at all times – just one of the reasons that we are the only dual-signalling system to be shown via independent tests to meet the highest level of EN standards.

3-minute polling

After discussions with the Association of British Insurers, BT BT Redcare has reduced the polling interval on Redcare gsm from five to three minutes for a 96-hour period following an event that causes the GSM path to become the primary path.

The 96-hour period of increased polling frequency provides heightened protection over an extended period, such as a 4-day bank holiday weekend. BT Redcare has initiated the enhancements in polling frequency of the secondary path because we believe that upon failure of the primary path, the secondary path should then meet all the requirements and expectations of the primary path within the EN Standards.

Our swiftly adopted improvements are solid evidence of BT Redcare’s commitment to quality, and they enhance our status as the only continuously monitored secure system available.

We have received a number of enquiries recently about the frequency of our polling. Please refer to our polling grid for information on polling frequencies and conditions.
